Cranfield University (Manufacturing and Materials Department) seeks to develop MSCs in the area of H&S body sensor technologies in the workplace. An offer will include a fully funded bursary for Home and EU research degree students based in the UK.
This MSc by research studentship, of up to £12,000, is for the period of one year with the potential to extend to up to 3 years. The studentship will also cover the tuition fee of £4,750 for Home/EU students only.
The focus of this MSc by research award is on the research and development of acoustic body sensor device. This project will require circuit development and firmware programming skills. Knowledge of circuit-board development and PIC programming is essential. A technical understanding of concept-to-creation processes is desirable.
Please Note: This MSc studentship aims to attract a practitioner/developer with the passion and drive to develop new body sensor solutions.
Throughout the project the candidate will be expected to meet with the industry sponsor and academic supervisor on a regular basis to research and develop exciting proposition that could be brought to manufacture.
Candidate Requirements
Successful applicants will have strong abilities in circuit-board development, programming, and CAD. A good first degree (2:1 or above) in hardware/software-related discipline is required. Strong communication and presentation skills are also required.
