Duties & Responsibilities: The Department of Immunology and Infectious Diseases at the Harvard School of Public Health is seeking a Research Coordinator/Data Analyst to perform the following:
-Carries out designated research tasks and projects, making use of selected methodology and materials, field work, library research, statistical analysis, or other investigative techniques.
-Records and/or codes data according to project requirements and established protocols.
-May participate in the design of study materials or field work.
-Contributes to and provides feedback on the management and cleaning of study data.
-Processes, organizes and summarizes data, reporting results using a variety of applications.
-Organizes and/or drafts material for the preparation of research papers, manuscripts, progress reports, articles or other documents for publication and/or presentation.
-Works with and may oversee the activities of the Student Research Assistant.
-Assists as needed in the preparation and editing of study-related documents, IRB applications, and progress reports.
Please note: This position is grant-funded through 2/1/2013.
Basic Qualifications: -Bachelor's Degree in related field. Biostatistical and epidemiological course work, experience with clinical trials or observational studies, failure time
-Working knowledge of statistical software such as SAS or Stata required.
Additional Qualifications: -MS in biostatistics/statistics or related degrees are preferred.
-Have good knowledge of hierarchical regression models, Bayesian statistics, and spatial and/or time-series statistics, or strong quantitative and statistics background.
-Experience of programming in relevant language, including R, C, or Stata
-Knowledge of data collection is preferred.
-Candidate must be self-motivating, able to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, have a background in collaborative research, and communicate clearly both orally and in writing.
-Position could potentially involve work on both clinical trials and observational studies.
-Solid written and oral communication skills.
-Solid organizational and team building skills.
-Proven ability to work on several projects simultaneously and under tight schedules.
