The National Renewable Energy Centre (CENER) is a technology centre, specialised in applied research and in the development and promotion of renewable energies. It has excellent qualifications and recognised national and international prestige.

The CENER-CIEMAT Foundation started its activity in 2002 and its Board of Trustees is comprised of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, Ciemat (Research Centre for Energy, Environment and Technology), the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, and the Government of Navarra.

It currently provides services and performs research work in 6 areas: Wind, Solar Thermal and Solar Photovoltaic, Biomass, Energy in Buildings and Renewable Energy Grid Integration.

CENER has cutting-edge technological infrastructures, with the most modern laboratories and facilities in the world. The Wind Turbine Test Laboratory (the only one of its kind in the world), the Experimental Wind Farm, the 2nd Generation Biofuel Centre and a Microgrid deserve a special mention.

CENERs headquarters are located in the Ciudad de la Innovación, in Sarriguren, Navarra, although it has facilities and offices in other locations, such as: Sangüesa, Alaiz and Aoiz (in Navarra), Seville and Madrid....

Within WAUDIT project, CENER has an opening for a Marie-Curie Experienced Researcher to work on the topic “Forest winds in complex terrain”. The project aims at developing a canopy flow model with the CFD open-source platform OpenFoam. The model will be embedded in CENER's atmospheric boundary layer model CFDWind and validated systematically from flat to complex terrain test cases. Model validation will be ultimately based on measurement campaigns from CENER’s Alaiz Test Site in complex terrain. The candidate will work in contact with other projects at CENER and Network wide in a multidisciplinary environment. A training program will be agreed with the candidate as part of the Personal Career Development Plan.

WAUDIT (Wind Resource Assessment Audit and Standardization) project is configured as a Marie-Curie Initial Training Network (ITN), funded under the FP7-People programme, with the aim of developing state-of-the-art wind resource assessment methodologies of added value to the Wind Energy industry. The network comprises 13 European organizations and 17 associated partners, covering well established research centres, universities and companies. For more info, please visit: www.waudit-itn.eu
