Project Description:

The Department of Systems Science at Beijing Normal University, China, invites applications for a full-time Postdoc position in multi-agent based modeling. Among the topics considered as particularly relevant for this position are multi-agent learning and agent-based simulation. The project will focus on consensus problems, cooperation and information sharing of multi agents.

 

Qualifications:

Ph.D. in Systems Science or a closely related subject area such as Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science (completed or nearly completed). Demonstrated research excellence in multi-agent technology and preferably in at least one of above mentioned topics of particular relevance. Interest in both theory and real-world applications. Team orientation and willingness to take a leading role in research. Perfect English Skill (the working language is English).

 

Offers:

The position is initially offered for a three-year period. Salary is competitive in China, depending on qualifications and work experience, and ranges from RMB 120,000 to RMB 150,000 per year for a full-time job (38 hours/week). The food in campus is about RMB 10 each meal and the house rent around the campus is about RMB 3000 each month. On top of this, there is a summer holiday (6 weeks) and a winter holiday (4 weeks).

Beijing Normal University (BNU, http://english.bnu.edu.cn) is a renowned institution of higher learning, emphasizing teacher education and basic learning in both arts and sciences. The school has over 3,000 faculty and 21,000 full-time students, including 8,700 undergraduates, 10,000 graduates, and 1,800 long-term international students. Reflecting the university's strong international profile, a fair amount of both students and staff are from abroad.

The Department of Systems Science ranks top of the Systems Science research institutes in Chinese universities. In 1990, a Systems Science Ph.D. Program was established at Beijing Normal University. The program encompasses both theory-oriented and applications aspects of the field. Research interests of the department include complex systems theory, socio-economic systems, systems biology, and evolutionary computation and agent-based systems.
