Duties & Responsibilities: At the Harvard School of Public Health AIDS Initiative and reporting to a member of the HSPH faculty, will provide data processing, application development, and data analysis for scientific research datasets. Work collaboratively with scientists and data managers to design, develop, use, and analyze procedures for processing of data, making use of scripting, application packages, code libraries, and analysis techniques including complex statistical approaches.
Using pre-packaged applications and developing custom codes, process data and re-design applications in response to user suggestions. Design and evaluate quality assurance and quality control methods and software. Coordinate with research scientists, data managers, and study team. Identify need for and contribute to development of local working conventions and procedures. Develop and maintain communication with project participants. Advise project participants regarding design, analysis, and methodological options. Participate in working groups on data systems design and analysis as needed. Please note: This is a grant-funded position through 9/29/2012.
Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree. 1-2 years programming experience.
Additional Qualifications: Master's degree preferred, attention to detail, excellent written and oral communication skills, and strong deductive reasoning skills. Experience with Python and Django preferred.
