The Division of General Academic Pediatrics (GAP) is currently recruiting a Lead Clinical Research Nurse Coordinator (CRNC), as the first line of support for clinical investigators in the GAP Division to this nationally recognized research institution participating in many federally funded and industry sponsored clinical trials. The Lead CRNC will support physicians in effectively and efficiently coordinating and streamlining all clinical research processes. Designs and implements training programs to assure ethical, regulatory, and protocol compliance by research staff and efficient use of database technology, e.g., electronic case report forms and remote data entry. Responsible for assisting with oversight of the clinical research operation in this division. Responsible for supervision and yearly evaluation of clinical research staff. Assists in financial oversight of clinical research operation. The Lead CRNC will screen and enroll subjects for protocols in the clinical settings of the Division of GAP. The individual will assist the investigating physicians and Principal Investigators (PI) with the preparation of regulatory documents, planning, subject recruitment, enrollment, scheduling, and study conduct. The Lead CRNC will train and mentor healthcare personnel about protocols and ensure protocol adherence under the direction of the PI. Strong communication skills are necessary. There is a potential for travel with this position. Current PA RN licensure is required. CCRC certification preferred. Six to eight years of experience in coordinating clinical trials is necessary. Flexible hours (day light, some evenings, weekends) will be necessary. Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement. PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required prior to the start of employment. BSN or bachelor’s degree required. Master’s preferred. Six to eight years of experience in coordinating clinical trials is necessary. Regulatory experience within the University of Pittsburgh a plus. Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement. Current PA RN licensure is required. CCRC certification is preferred.
