This position is at the Institute for Learning, housed within the Learning Research and Development Center (LRDC), a multi-disciplinary center for research to advance the science of learning by bringing together leading researchers in the cognitive, social, and educational sciences.
The position will serve as a research program manager for a large intervention and corresponding research study that works with many different education stakeholders (multiple El Paso area school districts and community organizations) to support improvement related to teaching and learning middle school mathematics.
Responsibilities include: coordinating project deadlines and deliverables for complex project teams; maintaining project databases and ensuring secure filing and storage; complex analytic functions with project data; managing the work of undergraduate and graduate student workers; facilitating various writing tasks; creating project policies and procedures for effective deliverable production; and budget management. The successful candidate must have the ability to interact effectively and efficiently with internal and external contacts at all levels and to organize, set priorities, handle multiple tasks simultaneously and complete work in a timely and efficient manner. This position is located in El Paso, Texas, and must be able to work out of the El Paso TX region for the duration of the three-year grant.
Must be able to communicate fluently in English and Spanish.
Valid drivers license required.
Master’s degree required, in education, psychology, sociology or related field and three years or more experience in a research environment; significant level of experience may be substituted for education
