The Becker lab at the University of Pittsburgh is interested in hiring a Research Scientist ( beckerlab.pitt.edu ). The lab studies molecular mechanisms regulating cardiomyopathy, heart failure, and sudden death. The candidate will work in a highly collaborative environment with other lab members to refine and develop new experimental methods and prepare manuscripts for submission. The candidate will coordinate the management of mouse colonies, laboratory ordering and will serve as a resource to train new lab personnel on relevant lab procedures and experiments. Experience with murine models, genotyping, tissue sectioning (frozen), immunohistochemistry, immunoblotting, and fluorescence microscopy preferred. There are opportunities for independent research projects for interested candidates.
At least 3 years of post-graduate research experience in relevant field of study.Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted.
