Med-Pediatrics – Pennsylvania-Pittsburgh – (22008925)

The Research Technician will assist in the planning, conduct, and analysis of experiments, maintaining lab records and inventories, ordering of supplies, and will be responsible for general lab organization. This requires supply ordering/inventory, general laboratory maintenance, equipment upkeep, and compliance with regulatory standards. Coordinating, processing, and distribution of human samples will be a key component of the job. Extraction of DNA and RNA from human samples will also be a significant part of the technician position. The applicant must accurately perform research projects according to established study design and procedures. Candidate should have a good knowledge of basic laboratory skills and must be able to work independently. Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement. This position is located at UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh in Lawrenceville. PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check, and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required prior to the start of employment. A Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry, or related scientific field is required with two years of experience. Equivalent relevant work experience may be substituted for degree requirement.
