The Department of Cancer Treatment at Levanger Hospital is now seeking a Consultant in Oncology to join our dedicated and experienced team.
Our department is part of the Surgical Clinic and currently consists of three experienced oncologists (two combining clinical and research roles), one consultant in the palliative care team, and two residents in oncology (LIS3). We run an exclusively outpatient, non‑on‑call service and work closely with the surgical wards where oncology patients are admitted. The department is characterised by a supportive working environment with strong emphasis on collaboration, knowledge sharing, and professional quality.
Levanger Hospital is a medium-sized acute hospital serving approximately 100,000 inhabitants, large enough to provide a broad range of clinical experiences, yet small enough to ensure close interdisciplinary collaboration.
Responsibilities: Assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of oncology patients in an outpatient setting Multidisciplinary collaboration with surgical, internal medicine, and palliative care teams Participation in multidisciplinary team meetings (MDT) Clinical supervision and mentoring of residents in oncology Contribution to teaching, quality improvement, and ongoing clinical research Opportunity to engage in academic and research activities based on interest and expertise
Qualifications: Authorisation as a medical doctor in an EU/EEA country EU/EEA certification as a specialist in oncology Strong clinical competence and communication skills Good English skills and motivation to learn Norwegian (free language course provided) Experience from hospital-based oncology practice is preferred
