The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Director of Academic Advisement in the department of Nurs-Student Services . They will report to the Assistant Dean for Student Services and provides strategic oversight and management of student advisement and course scheduling for the undergraduate and graduate programs, within the School of Nursing at the University of Pittsburgh.
As Director, the incumbent will be responsible for establishing and executing the direction of the advising, course scheduling, and graduation functions for the undergraduate and graduate programs with an emphasis on attracting, retaining and supporting students while providing a quality student experience within the School of Nursing that enables students to successfully progress in their respective programs. In conjunction with the Assistant Dean, the Director is responsible for establishing and executing short- and long-term goals and initiatives for enhancing and optimizing the retention functions, ensuring alignment with the goals and objectives of the School of Nursing and the University. The Director will serve as the secondary liaison to School of Nursing leadership, providing expertise and strategic insight as it pertains to retention and experience of School of Nursing undergraduate and graduate students. Overall, the Director will be responsible for the implementation of retention strategies as well as setting, communicating, and ensuring the execution of standards for advising and course scheduling with emphasis on customer service, retention, and quality of the student experience within the School of Nursing.
On a daily basis, the Director will manage and provide direction to advising and course scheduling staff, ensuring alignment of operations with departmental objectives and compliance of processes and operations with department and University policies and procedures.

M aster’s in Education preferred. Five years of experience in an academic institution. Excellent communication and writing skills. Excellent customer skills, strong work ethic, ability to make informed decisions.
