About the GP service: The municipality has 15 doctors spread across several well-run medical clinics. GPs can work either as private practitioners or salaried employees, depending on the agreement. The clinics are modern and well-equipped, with stable access to skilled nurses, biomedical laboratory scientists and medical secretaries.

GPs participate in on-call duty at an inter-municipal emergency clinic located at a nearby hospital. The clinic is staffed by nurses 24/7, with a doctor on call from 3 PM to 8 AM on weekdays and 24-hour shifts on weekends and public holidays.

Professional requirements: Medical license and specialist approval from an EU country. Specialist in family medicine, preferably with minimum two years of experience. Good communication skills in English, and motivated to learn Norwegian. Experience in paediatric medicine and infant check-ups. Experience in gynaecological examinations in an office setting. Skilled in minor surgical procedures. Ability to handle a broad variety of patients and diagnoses independently. Class B driver’s license. A clean criminal record must be documented through a police certificate in accordance with the Health Personnel Act.
