To be considered for this role, applicants must display extraordinary abilities in scientific research and show definite promise of becoming outstanding leaders in the research they pursue. Applicants are expected to have solved a major scientific or engineering problem in their thesis work or to have provided a new approach to solving a major problem, as evidenced by a recognized impact in their field.
