The University of Pittsburgh is
seeking a qualified Practice Improvement Specialist in the Mechanicsburg
location. They will be responsible for responding to county public child
welfare agencies and their partners in order to assist in enhancing child
welfare practices for better outcomes for children, youth, and families. The
Practice Improvement Specialist supports the implementation of the Pennsylvania
Practice Model and statewide initiatives as requested by county and state
government, and serves as a liaison between individual counties and the
Pennsylvania Child Welfare Resource Center (Resource Center). The Practice
Improvement Specialist facilitates, coordinates, and participates in statewide
meetings, coordinating trainings and technical assistance related to the Child
and Family Services Review, Program Improvement Plan and continuous quality
improvement including the Pennsylvania Quality Service Reviews. In
collaboration with county agencies, Family Centers, and stakeholders, conducts
ongoing on-site assessments, planning, development, monitoring, and delivery of
technical assistance, training, and transfer of learning products and services.
The Practice Improvement Specialist functions as a team member of the
Organizational Effectiveness/Regional Team Department and other internal and
external committees as assigned for the Resource Center.
Bachelor’s degree in social work or closely related field required, MSW
preferred. Excellent interpersonal, writing, and facilitation skills required.
Minimum of three years’ experience as a professional in the human service field
required and Child Welfare experience preferred.
Must have excellent analytical, problem solving, writing, change management,
facilitation, presentation, and collaboration skills in order to promote
interaction of the Resource Center/University with numerous diverse
organizations, including universities, counties, state government and other
public and private human service organizations.
Note: Position is located in Central Region, with travel to Mechanicsburg, PA
office required. Travel is required for the position.
PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI
Criminal Record Check will be required as a condition of employment
