The University of Pittsburgh is seeking a qualified Program Development Specialist.They will be responsible for providing leadership and coordination of several statewide Pennsylvania Child Welfare Resource Center (Resource Center) activities. The primary responsibility is to provide support to activities related to Pennsylvania’s Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) which include Citizen Review Panels (CRP) and the Children’s Justice Act.
The Program Development Specialist functions as a team member of Resource Center’s Statewide Quality Improvement Department and works closely with the CRP volunteers, as well as internal and external stakeholders.
Bachelor’s degree in social work, project management or closely related field required, MSW preferred.
Minimum of three years’ experience as a professional in the human service field required and Child Welfare experience preferred. Excellent interpersonal, writing, and facilitation skills required.
Knowledge of the Pennsylvania’s Practice Model and Pennsylvania child welfare practice is preferred. Experience in continuous quality improvement efforts is preferred.
Experience in project management and facilitation of groups is required. Project managers must have a basic understanding of and ability to use Microsoft Office Products, have excellent interpersonal, strong writing, collaboration, problem solving, planning/organizing, verbal communication, analytical, leadership and change management.
This position is located in Mechanicsburg, PA near Harrisburg, PA.
Travel is required.
PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check will be required as a condition of employment.
